We’re currently still in the research phase, which involves baking and eating a lot of bread ourselves.

About Bread Reckoning

Dead Reckoning is a form of navigation.  Bread Reckoning is a pun.  Most of the other bread name puns were already taken.  

Strange Breadfellows was a close second for a name, hey if you prefer it let us know.  Thats the joy of the research phase, finding stuff out!

I started baking sourdough in 2017.  After moving to Mid-Canterbury in 2022 and discovering the joys of milling locally grown wheat and rye, my passion for the habit only increased.  

I’m currently in the research phase, finding out everything I need to know before deciding if a microbakery would be a viable business for me.
